I'll be the first to admit I have a problem...well I have several problems, but we're just focusing on one here. And that main flaw is my love for "pretty things." All someone needs to do is say those magical words, "shiny object" and they have my devoted attention. This love of mine has reared its ugly head in the form of a shopping addiction mainly. So now that I have come to terms with my problem, I've tried to find ways to appease my love of all things fashion and/or shiny.
This is where the lovely Polyvore outfit a day is coming in at on the blog. Those are pretty cool. My only real beef with the site is that it has all this couture clothing, but nothing from nice decent design studios such as Express, where most of my clothes happen to come from. So this has resulted in multiple similar to outfits being posted. In an ideal world, I'd have the look posted but in actuality, I have it's affordable cousin. In fact, not only do I have it's affordable cousin, but the whole family tree. I really do own far too much clothing. I'll never say I own too many shoes though; because that just isn't possible.
All this being said, after some reminiscing the other day, I came to a conclusion. Clueless truly was a fantastic movie with a huge appeal to the inner fashion and shopping addict in all of us. I mean, really take a step back and look at that closet she had. It was fab. Most females I know would still kill for that closet...and not for nostalgia's sake. However, in today's day and age, there's still a fix of that same sort of awe available compliments of Rachel Zoe. She's awesome. She's essentially what Cher from Clueless would be as an adult. Every ounce of fashion that comes out of her show is awesome and quite honestly; it's not far that sort of clothing isn't available to everyone.

Eventful Day
Now as I have explained before, my day to day existence is not always the most thrilling, however, yesterday was nice. I got an email from Ben referring to a volleyball league starting next week. I've played volleyball for more than half my life and lately, have been talking about joining a league, but couldn't find one. Well that problem was fixed. I'm now part of a league, which, although a little lower of a level of play than I'm used to, should be pretty good.
The other exciting that happened to me yesterday was that I got business cards. I realize that's pretty lame to most people, but to me, it's exciting. I've never had them before and I do now...how cool is that?

holiday weekend
So this weekend was a lovely extended weekend. An extra day of "weekend" is always welcomed, though when combining working in the corporate setting with working in retail; the term weekend quickly loses its meaning. This extended weekend was no exception. Labor day for me translated to working for time and a half pay, which, I am always on board for. Other than that, it was a lovely weekend. The Hamburger Festival in good ole' Hamburg, PA was amazing. Highlights included deep-fried pepper-jack cheese on a stick, the Pittsburger (look up Primanti's if you need further explanation) and a grilled cheese burger. I even got a strand of freshwater pearls from a local artisan. (They're quite pretty if I do say so myself.) And if that wasn't enough PA fun, it was followed up by Country Junction, the world's largest general store. I fed an alpaca feed out of an ice cream cone...score.
I worked a bit on Sunday and then had a barbecue, which was a nice Labor Day type festivity. I worked today as well and now here I sit. I'm sitting here, listening to the rain fall against the windows and watching The Blindside, which is a quite good movie. This is the first time I've seen it. That's about all for me now. Winding Down
For no particular reason, this has been an especially exhausting week. I wish this wasn't the case, but I have to admit I'm glad this week is over. Laundry is mostly done, Most of it is even folded...though still in piles on my window seat. I'd also like to add that my bills are in order and for the most part I feel good about this past week, though it did completely wipe me out. There have been nice surprises thrown in there at least, such as Sarah visiting me at work last night and Kelly visiting earlier in the week. Apparently I work too much since my friends all are coming to work to find me. Thankfully this weekend will involve some socializing. This is a win.
Also to be noted; is that I don't get the appeal of labor day. In my opinion it is a celebration of the best season ending. I think that should be mourned, not celebrated, but that's my humble opinion. With that being said, I will celebrate getting time and a half at work if I work Labor Day. I'll definitely get on board with that game plan.

Excess
So my laundry is finally getting tackled. There is an obscene amount of it. The fact I can go so long and wear that many different outfits is actually really bad. I know I need to thin out my wardrobe, but the thought of doing so is almost enough to cause me an anxiety attack. It will be a completely overwhelming endeavor once I get into it. Either way, I'm sneaking up on that organization thing. Not much else going on...mainly because I work too much.
