Rimmel London Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation

Thanks to Influenster's Voxbox Program, I was lucky enough to receive a Rimmel London Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation to try! This is a wonderful foundation and I would recommend it to anyone.  I work long days and sometimes the conditions are less than ideal.  This foundation lasted all day and kept my skin looking flawless.

With Rimmel London Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation, you get a solid foundation for your daily make-up routine.  In addition to that, it won't even break the bank!  It's totally affordable and an awesome value at that.  I'd recommend this to anyone.

It's super easy to apply. Just use your hands or a blending sponge; whichever you prefer.  And it's also fantastic because it doesn't leave your skin feeling sticky or oily or greasy. Just a great foundation to use!

Sheer Cover Duo Concealer

The review: This is a fabulous concealer duo that I recently got to try out! I am not one of the lucky ones who was blessed with a great complexion, but with a little help from Sheer Cover Duo Concealer, no one else has to see that now.  This product provides great coverage and is super light-weight and does not have any of that caked on feeling you sometimes get with make-up.  This provides a lightweight, clean feeling coverage and minimizes most skin imperfections! I love it!

Also worth mentioning is that I was lucky enough to receive this product complimentary to test through Influenster's VoxBox Program!

Spring Beauty VoxBox has arrived!!

So my long-awaited Spring Beauty VoxBox has come.  It's also chock-full-o-goodies that I will be reviewing as I use them.  (I haven't had a chance to just yet.)  Some of the goodies inside include Bath and Body Works fragrance mist in their Japanese Cherry Blossom fragrance, Dr. Scholl's ball of foot cushions, Sally Hanson Salon Effects, Sheer Cover concealer, Chapstick Lipshield 365, Aveeno Naturals bodywash and a Soy Joy bar in Strawberry.

I'm super excited to try all my products and can't wait to let all of you know how much I love them.  Also worth mentioning here is that all of these products I received complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes.  So thanks!

I've got a fever and the only cure is more.....free stuff

Bet you all were expecting me to say cowbell? Well, I didn't.   Today's lesson is about surviving on a budget.  I do it everyday and it's a real challenge at times.  I'll admit it.  I definitely have an affinity for the finer things in life...and lots of them at that.  I had a major spending problem for awhile there.  But I have recently (thanks to my student loans) learned how to curb my compulsion to buy buy buy.  Whoever called a consumer driven life meaningless should let loose with me for a day with an unbridled budget.  I bet I could get them to realize the joy there is to be found in being a consumer.  However, this is no longer me.  I simply cannot afford it.  So to satisfy my cravings for new and interesting/lovely things, I have gotten creative.

This means, I have become familiar with the free sample.  Now, I know you're probably thinking that I just collect a lot of small packages of things I'll never use like denture glue and toddler diapers, but this isn't true.  There's actually a lot of cool free trials on stuff that is actually nice and useful out there.  And an added bonus, if it is something you like, nine times out of ten, the trial comes with a coupon for a larger size.

I've also learned two other pretty snazzy tricks.  The first one is to sign up for product testing sites.  I've come to enjoy this actually.  You can register with certain website and you will be allowed to do free product trials as long as you review/promote the product.  Awesome, right? I think it's a pretty sweet deal.  Influenster is my favorite of these sites.  The second way you can to score some sweet items is entering contests/drawings. There's a lot of stuff out there you can win with minimal work and maybe even just some luck. Regardless, the lesson to be learned here is that life goes on when you're on a budget.

imPRESS Press-on Manicure

Influenster was kind enough to give me a complimentary set of imPRESS Press-on Manicure nails to try in my Holiday 2011 VoxBox.  So here's my take on them.I got mine in the color, "little Drummer Chick, which is actually a pink zebra print.  They came to me before the holidays so I decided that a great tie to use these would be New Years Eve, since they were a fun party print and it seemed like an ideal time.  They were incredibly easy to apply and looked great.  The packaging, which is actually like a little nail polish bottle (quirky, right?), said they would last up to a week.  I didn't get them to last for that long, but for a night out every so often, I think they are great.  They are relatively inexpensive compared to a manicure and much faster/lower maintenance.  There's also no messy nail glue like if you apply acrylics yourself.  Overall, I think they're a nice little product and I would recommend them to anyone.  A picture is soon to follow since it's not on my camera!

Montagne Jeunesse - Face Mask

Time to review another wonderful product I received in my Influenster VoxBox to review.  I'd like to tell you about my  Montagne Jeunesse Face Mask in Cucumber Peel Off.  Now, this is actually a product I routinely use. So, getting one of these to use in my VoxBox was actually a lovely surprise.  I routinely buy these in drug stores (Rite Aid always seems to have the biggest selection) and they are only about $1.99 a piece and I usually get about two uses out of each packet (either clip the package closed or put it in a Ziploc bag and use it within a few days of opening).  In order to get the best results, just apply the face mask of your skin evenly and wait 15-20 minutes.  You'll know it's time to peel off the mask when you crinkle your nose and it loosens a bit. This is always my go-to item about once a month when my skin looks like it needs a little help.  I prefer the peel off masks to the mud/clay masks because I think they do a better job of removing dirt/oil from my type of skin.  Regardless, I would recommend this product to anyone, since I think they are fantastic.  I'd include a picture, but it would just be a glossy version of me since the mask is just a clear gel with a slight green hue to it.  These face masks are fantastic for giving your skin a fresh, clean glow.

NYC New York Color Liquid Lipshine

The first item I would like to let everyone in on that I got to try out of my Holiday 2011 VoxBox from Influenster was NYC New York Color Liquid Lipshine. I even got this product complimentary since I am testing it.  The shade I received was a neutral.  Although it didn't provide an over-abundance of color, it did add great shine to my lips.  The neutral shade will stand alone great if i want to add shine to my lips when going for a natural look or if I want to use a lip stain.  Often times, lip stains provide great color/pigmentation, but offer little in the department of shine.  This is a great way to perk up lackluster lip color.  In addition to that, it's pretty inexpensive.  This is a great bang for your buck.  I would definitely recommend picking this up in the drugstore on your next visit.

Product Information: NYC New York Color Liquid Lipshine

A beauty-editor favorite is Liquid Lipshine ($2.49). It has pure pigments that created a 3-D gloss effect. Vitamin E provides shine and a moisturizing feel. The formula is non-sticky, super shiny & soft. Available in 10 on-trend shades from neutral nudes, to berries & fuchsias.
